.: bedroom recipe #6 :.

As promised, this is my Part II of the previous mirrored furniture post.

Awhile back, I purchased a storage bed bench for really cheap. ($49 cheap- extra discount because of some scratches and damages on the legs) I wasn't too fond of the design, but bought it because of the price tag. Because of my obsession with mirrored furniture, I decided to cover the scratches on the legs with mirrored pieces. I did a little research, and found that a lot of other people had the same idea. The one that especially caught my eyes was this project done by Jule- what an a.m.a.z.i.n.g job she did!! Her project was definitely my source of inspiration. :)

I love customizing my furniture- it's cost effective and the results are always one of a kind. Here's yet another sweet concoction recipe!

.: Before Pics of my bench :.

.: Ingredients :.
- mirror sheets (I bought 2 sheets at a local glass/mirror supplier for under $30..be extra nice and they will even cut it into smaller pieces for you ;)
- mirror/glass cutter
- liquid nails to adhere mirror pieces to leg (bought at home depot)
- ruler & marker

.: Direction :.
1) Measure the legs and cut mirrors using a mirror cutter. (This was the hardest part of the whole process. It takes a lot of patience and practice. But once you get the hang of it, it's not bad at all.)
2) Adhere the mirror pieces with the liquid nails.
3) Let it sit and dry

{For extra tips on cutting mirror, click here for a video tutorial.}

.: After Pics of my bench :.
The whole project cost me less than $50. Buying a piece of mirrored furniture these days can easily cost you upwards of $1,000. It is definitely easier on your wallet if you do the work yourself! And the result isn't half bad ;) However, if you want, you can always ask your local craftsmen to do the work for you. I asked around, and a simple project like this will cost you anywhere between $100-$120, and that's including the cost of mirror and installation. Not bad!
