.: bathroom recipe #2 :.

About 2 weeks ago, my mom asked me to decorate our bathroom downstairs. We hardly use this bathroom. Over the years it has turned into a storage/dog's bathroom so we never thought about decorating it. Of course I agreed to help her out, and she gave me a very tight budget to work with. I'm always up for a design challenge! :)

While at Lowe's to pick out a paint color, I came across Mirr.Edge, a mirror framing system product. I was immediately intrigued! Basically, it is a system of mirror acrylic OR woodgrain finished polymer strips and corner plates that you can very easily apply around the perimeter of your mirror. It completely transforms your existing mirror into a new one, and the best part of it all is that it's CHEAP. I got 2 packs of the beveled acrylic mirror strips and 1 pack of the mirror corner plates for around $38.

Look below for a before and after pic. A perfect sweet concoction recipe! :)

before pic
.: Ingredients :.
- your choice of corner plates and strips
- measuring tape
- razor knife
- glue

.: Direction :.
1) Measure mirror
2) Score line in strip to measured length
3) Hold strip firmly w/ both hands near score line and bend hands down to snap
4) Apply adhesive pads and glue along back of strips and plates. Then set in place.
{directions are from the mirr.edge website }
total time= 25-30 minutes

Doesn't it make a HUGE difference?
(More pics of the final renovation will be posted in the following posts!)

wow, this is a great idea! i was thinking of buying some framed mirrors for my new bedroom in my new apt, but they're way $$$. this is a good option, esp because they have unframed mirrors (in packs) that are really affordable at ikea that could be prettied up w/ the edges...

So great! I recently did a bathroom redo (and blogged about it) but didn't do anything to the mirror! Nice inspiration!
